Don't let the name fool you. Hellblock is The Boneline's single-vineyard Riesling — named for the notoriously steep, sun-baked block that produces it — and what comes out of that punishing site is anything but harsh.

Very pale gold, the nose is highly perfumed and high-toned: roses and lily of the valley with an almost ethereal delicacy that belies the intensity beneath. The palate is sweet, light, and racy with a saline edge and balancing phenolics that frame the mid-weight citrus and apple flavours beautifully. A powerful mid-palate bursts with potential, and a honeyed marmalade edge hints at the complexity that will emerge with a few years in the cellar. The finish is tapered, mineral, and pithy — long and precise.

This is a Riesling with a split personality in the best possible way: floral and fragrant on the surface, tightly coiled and mineral underneath. Cellar for 3–7 years and watch it transform.
