The Voilé is Tantalus Estate's most expressive Syrah — and the 2019 vintage is a wine that earns its name. Deep purple in the glass, it blossoms with blue fruits and violets before gravitating, almost inevitably, toward a subtle undertone of exotic cooking spices. Vibrant and sharply focused, smoke-accentuated nuance plays across the palate alongside a plush, velvety texture that is genuinely hard to put down. Eighteen months of regular bâtonnage in carefully selected French oak barriques has rounded the tannins beautifully, adding a fine grip and a delicate finishing touch. Cellaring potential of up to 10 years.

In the winery, the berries were gently split to maximise skin contact, with two percent of stalks retained for structure and spice. Syrah and Viognier were co-fermented in small stainless vessels and concrete eggs using indigenous and selected yeasts and bacteria, allowing careful control of temperature and bouquet development. Maceration continued until equilibrium was achieved before gentle pressing. Élevage took place in special French oak barrels for eighteen months. Bottled under premium cork, unfined — preserving every bit of the purity, freshness, and silky mouthfeel that makes this wine what it is.
